Social media

Responsible social media coverage of the conference (using hashtag #NGWM2016) is highly encouraged. Unauthorized distribution of any scientific information presented in the conference should be avoided. In case a presenter is reluctant to share information about her/his presentation through the social media, she/he is kindly asked to express this to the audience. Please be respectful and considerate towards fellow conference participants.

Instructions for presenters and conveners

Please observe the below guidelines related to presenting/convening in the conference. For exact time and location information, consult the NGWM programme book or schedule.

Oral presentations

A time slot for regular (keynote) talk is 15 (30) minutes, consisting of at most 12 (27) minutes of monologue and at least 3 minutes of discussion. We kindly ask the speaker to bring a copy of the presentation slides (pdf, ppt, pez) to the computer in the session auditorium. This should be done on the presentation day, at latest during the last break before the session in which the talk will be given. Computer files cannot be stored overnight.

Posters

Please prepare your poster in A0 size, in portrait layout. The presenter is individually responsible for printing his/her poster whereas pins and boards are provided by the organizer. The Department of Physics offers on-site poster printing services .

The printing charge is 30 EUR (matte paper) or 40 EUR (glossy paper) per poster. Only by cash is accepted as payment. Pick-up of prints is at the registration desk (Wednesday the 13th of January at 8:30-10:00). Orders must be placed by Fri, 8th Jan 12:00 AM (EET) via email (tomas.kohout'at'helsinki.fi) with the following information:

Subject: NGWM poster printing order
Body text: No. of ordered posters, file format, poster size and paper type.

Accepted poster sizes are 914 mm ✕ 1189 mm (preferable) and 841 mm ✕ 1189 mm. Accepted file formats are PDF, PPT, PPTX, CDR, ODP, and TIFF. The application-native formats (e.g. PPT, CDR etc.) are preferred for printing. However, since compatibility issues may arise, please submit a PDF-draft as a backup. The actual file must be submitted either as an attachment or as a download link at latest by Sun, 10th Jan 24:00 EET to the aforementioned email address. Other sizes or formats will NOT be accepted, deadlines will be strictly followed.

Alternatively, at Kumpula campus, printing services can be bought from Unigrafia (pick-up of preordered prints from the main lobby of Exactum).

We kindly ask the author to be present around her/his poster for the whole poster session.

Conveners

We kindly ask the conveners to ensure that their session has a chairperson during all its talks. The chairperson is expected to make sure that the speakers (and slide documents) of the session are present, that the communication equipment of the auditorium is functioning, and that adequate assistant personnel are present.
